High School Aerospace Scholars

High School Aerospace Scholars

High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS) is an interactive online learning experience for high school juniors in Texas. Selected students are nominated by their State Legislator, have an interest in math, science, engineering or computer science and are encouraged to consider high tech careers. Participation is highlighted by a six-day experience at the Johnson Space Center where students have the opportunity to interact with engineers. Teachers from across Texas will also have the opportunity to serve as mentors during the summer.

NATIONAL Community College Aerospace Scholars

National Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) is in its pilot year, offering an opportunity for community college students across the United States to participate in an online interactive learning experience culminating in an onsite experience at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC). Students will research the possibility of a mission to Mars and then team up with other participants to compete for a Martian rover contract; NASA scientists and engineers will lead each team and students will learn about NASA educational and research opportunities while onsite at JSC.

TEXAS Community College Aerospace Scholars

Funded by the Texas legislature, Community College Aerospace Scholars, or CAS, gives teams of community college students from across the state of Texas an opportunity to participate in a unique on-site team project. Students are involved in web-based interactive activities prior to their arrival at Johnson Space Center. They then spend two days during the spring semester on-site taking part in an exploration team project which allows students to work with NASA engineers and scientists in a real-life environment to design and present a project proposal. The workshop is funded by CAS with a minimal registration fee for each scholar.
