Welcome Scholars!!!
Hi, my name is Angaleta Crenshaw. I currently work at
Sunray High School in Sunray, TX. I have been teaching in the Sunray school
systems for the last 7 years. I have taught grades 5-12th. This year I
am teaching Chemistry, Physics, and Geology, Meteorology, and Oceanography.
For the school year 2001-2002, I will get to teach Astronomy for the first
time at Sunray High School. I am very excited about teaching this class
since my interest is space.
I graduated from Lubbock Christian College with a Bachelor
of Science in Elementary Education. I continued with my education by attending
Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Wayland Baptist University in Plainview,
University of Houston, University of Houston in Clear Lake, West Texas
A&M University in Canyon, and Amarillo College in Amarillo. Taking
classes that pertain to science is very important to me. Most of the classes
that I take deal with aerospace science.
I have been involved in the Regional Collaborative for
Excellence in Science Teaching for the last 6 years. During that time,
I have been able to make several field trips and advancements in Science.
I received an award from Shell Oil Company for my work in this program.
Also, Senator Teel Bivins gave each of us in the program certificates
from the Texas Congress for our work and dedication to the students of
Texas. I am also working with ten teachers across the United States writing
curriculum for the GRACE satellite that will be launched in the fall of
2001.
This will be my second year to work with TASP. I am very
excited about working with young people across Texas. I learn so much
from them. Their enthusiasm and excitement is contagious and makes teaching
a joy. This is an excellent and great program for the young people of
Texas to be a part. They learn a great deal from the scientists, astronauts,
engineers, mentors, and coop personal. This will be a great time for both
you and myself.
