| Douglas joined the Johnson Space Center
(JSC) as a cooperative education student in May of 2000. As a co-op
student he worked in Human Resources and worked primarily with the High
School Aerospace Scholars. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Literature
in 2001, from University of Houston Clear Lake. In December
2001, he accepted a position with the Education and Student Programs Branch
and has been working primarily with the development of Texas Aerospace
Scholars and obtaining grants for a Career Exploration Website.
His responsibilities include maintaining relationships with various contracts,
streamlining program operations, establishing a JSC Education presence
on the Internet, and researching new educational programs.
In 1996 he began designing and developing exhibits
for a NASA affiliated science and space museum at Moody Gardens on Galveston
Island. In 1998 he became the museum director for this facility
and continued the working relationship between Moody Gardens and NASA.
This relationship eventually led to his co-op position. |
