| Hi there! My name is Dixie Hacker.
I currently teach Honors Algebra 1 and Honors Algebra 2 at Jasper High School
in Plano, Texas. I have been teaching in Plano since graduation from
Stephen F. Austin State University in 1994 with a B.S. in Mathematics.
During that time I have taught every level of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra
2, sponsored our schools “Students Taking Action Not Drugs” organization
from 1995 - 1998 (this was so much fun and involved many summer camps) as
well as serve as a team leader for our department (this is also much fun,
as I am blessed to work with terrific teachers). I also have
a M.Ed. from the University of North Texas. When not in the classroom
teaching students the joys of mathematics and how to appease the “Algebra
gods”, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 18 month old son (he’s
such a cutie. . . I’d be happy to email pictures if you’d like
– pictures of my son, not my husband). In addition to time spent
with family and friends I love a good movie or book and corny math jokes.
