| PERSONAL DATA:
I was born March 20th in Victoria, Texas. This is where I was born
and raised. I have two wonderful children; Sarah who is a senior
and Zachary who is a sophmore at Lee High School. We have a dog
named "Tofu"; he is a fox terrier. We (actually Sarah
. . .) have/has a cat named "Venus"; she is solid black with
an attitude! The dog and cat take turns chasing and jumping out
at each other! I like going to Galveston during the summer,
shopping, singing, listening to music, and many other things. I
like to try new things such as para-sailing, skydiving and hot-air ballooning.
EDUCATION: I graduated from
the University of Houston/Victoria Campus in 1988 with a B.S. in Education.
This is a branch of UofH, only it is in Victoria, Texas. I completed
my college after I had two children and a divorce; therefore, I am the
perfect person to speak with if you are considering putting college off
for any amount of time ! ! When I graduated, I had a 1 & 3 year
old AND a 4.0 GPA.
EXPERIENCE: I have taught in Victoria,
Sheldon, and in Baytown. I have taught grades kindergarten through
12th grade. The majority of my experience is in the elementary school
setting. I am presently teaching a self-contained class of fifth
graders. One of their favorite things is doing our science labs
on Fridays. I have been the math team leader, and I am
the district coordinator for Oral Reading U.I.L. I
am our school's liaison with our Partner in Education (Baytown Olefins
Plant/Exxon).
I worked last summer during two of the T.A.S. sessions
and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I am very delighted to be returning
this year! I will be with the red team and I can't wait to meet
all of you. Until then . . . think MARS ! !
