| Hello! My name is
Rob Morehead, and I work for the United Space Alliance at JSC. I am a
Space Shuttle flight controller, and I work in the Booster Group. Basically,
we are in charge of making sure that the Space Shuttle engines operate
correctly, and the fire you see coming out of the Space Shuttle during
take-off is going in the right direction. I earned a B.S in Aerospace
Engineering from the University of Kansas in May, 2000 and really enjoy
the mechanics of airplanes, rockets, and space flight.
I became an Aerospace Engineer because I like things that
fly and I always find myself asking "why does this work, and why
was it designed this way?". I really enjoy working at Johnson Space
Center because space travel is very exciting, and this is the best place
to be if you want to play a part in manned space exploration.
Personally, I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and am
a St Louis Cardinals fan. I volunteer at the NOAA Sea Turtle Facility
on Galveston Island; enjoy basketball, volleyball, and building big rockets.
I also have a private pilots license.
I look forward to working with you and sharing ideas! |
