| I was born, and lived in Houston, Texas
until graduating from Northbook High School in 1982. I attended the University
of Texas at Austin, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Education in
1984 and a Master’s degree in Science Education in 1990. I have taught
science and mathematics for the last 17 years, both at the middle school
and high school levels. I also
write assessment items for state science and mathematics tests, like the
Texas Assessment of Academic Skills. While teaching 8th grade
science at Llano Junior High, I won the 1999 Middle School Science Teacher
of the Year Award. I have two sons, ages 12 and 15. In my spare time, I
enjoy star-gazing and reading novels on my deck overlooking Lake LBJ. |
