Upon completing this unit of instruction, students will be able to: 

  •  Explain the objectives of NASA's mission and vision
  •  Summarize the roles and responsibilities of the members of the ground control team
  •  List the types of careers available in the shuttle program  
  •  Calculate the change in velocity that the shuttle will need to make to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere and land successfully at the designated land strip

The student's assignment will be graded using the rubric in the mission of the lesson. The following components are required for this lesson:

  • Composing an essay on a career summary
  • Solving the math problem
  • Completing the quiz

Students are selected for the summer program based completion of lessons, score of quizzes, quality of work and timeliness.
