HAS 2006-2007 Teacher/Counselor FAQs

When is the application due?
March 7, 2008.

Can I participate without an internet connection?
No.

When will I be informed if I have been accepted into HAS?
April 1, 2008.

How do I get to the chat room?
The chat room is located here.

Should I do the quizzes or assignments to get prepared?
Absolutely! It will help you to be prepared, especially the Earth to Mars lessons.

How do I arrange for my travel to JSC?
Fill out the on-line Travel Form. It will be available beginning April 18 and should be completed before April 23, 2008.

If I am flying do I get a paper ticket?
No, you will get an electronic ticket, a confirmation number, airline, date, time and fight number that will arrive by e-mail. This is usually just a few days before you are due to arrive here at JSC. You get your boarding pass or ticket at the gate.

When will I get my mileage reimbursement and stipend check?
Approximately two-three weeks after the program ends.

What are my specific responsibilities during the week?
See the Teacher Responsibilities page.

What do I do when I arrive in Houston on Sunday?
Check-in at the hotel by 2:00 pm. A HAS staffer will meet you and you will help with student registration.

Will I need a car?
No.

What if I have to drop out of the program?
Please contact the HAS staff at 281.483.4112 immediately.
