The C-9 HAS Team

In August of 2008, a group of HAS teachers were selected to design an experiment and fly aboard NASA's C-9 aircraft.

The team tested their experiment aboard NASA’s “Weightless Wonder,” a C-9 aircraft that can produce periods of weightlessness lasting up to 25 seconds at a time by flying a series of about 50 parabolas – a steep climb followed by a free fall – over the Gulf of Mexico.

The teachers took the results of the experiemnt back into their classroom to share with their students in hopes of encouraging students to eplore careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields..
