Team Eligibility

Eligible Texas middle school teachers must complete the online application in order to be considered for participation in MAS.

Teachers may apply independently or as part of a team.

Teams should select a captain (must be either the science or math teacher). This captain will initiate the application and serve as the main point of contact for the team.

Each applicant must:

• Be a U.S. citizen and reside in the State of Texas
• Be a certified teacher in the State of Texas with current credentials
• Be currently teaching full time in an accredited Texas middle school (grades 6, 7 and 8)
• Have previous teaching experience -- 3 years preferred
• Apply online either independently or as a team of two or four from the same school teaching the same grade level.

Independent teachers should be Math or Science teachers.

Teams of two must include of a math and/or a science teacher.

Teams of four must include a math and a science teacher. The two other slots may include teachers of language arts, social studies, or computer science with only one member from each subject area. A school administrator (principal) or librarian may substitute for one member of the team other than the math or science teacher.
